Identification and Characterization of Spawning Habitat of the Cutlip Minnow

This project provides ongoing monitoring and new information on population abundance, habitat characteristics, and spawning behaviour of the threatened Cutlip Minnows in the St. Lawrence River. Thriving populations of Cutlip Minnows have been identified in the Cornwall area, and this research informs the provincial Species at Risk programs and guides future recovery efforts. This project is a great fit with our educational workshops for students and community members due to the unusual and fascinating behaviours of this little fish.
